bbc radio one raspberry pi web radio firefox jes.saxe.dk

2 ways of starting browser as web radio like BBC on Raspberry Pi

Want your favourite radio station like BBC https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/live:bbc_radio_one  to load when your RasPi boots? Then this is a solution  by editing the desktop boot config file

(Requires Raspios Desktop):

#nano /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart

add

@chromium-browser --incognito https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/live:bbc_radio_one

or  if you prefer Firefox (install that by #update #apt install firefox-esr)

@firefox-esr https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/live:bbc_radio_one

Note: the URL have to be in one complete line. No breaks!

This work on Raspi 3 and 3+ per 03 DEC 21. The problem having Firefox to play music from BBC and other web radio station seems to solved in November update:

Linux RasPi3BB 5.10.63-v7+ #1488 SMP Thu Nov 18 16:14:44 GMT 2021 armv7l GNU/Linux

firefox-esr 78.15.0esr-1~deb11u1+rpi1 armhf Mozilla Firefox web browser – Extended Support Release (ESR)
